This will be the outline of my research.

Research Topic:

Drama to build confidence and motivation towards speaking English among ESL learners.

Topic Area :

ESL

Research Problem :

The lack of young learners’ participation in speaking activities in English Language class.

Research Objective :

The objectives of the study are to:

1)      Confirm other studies showing drama to be a successful method of second language instruction in increasing confidence and motivation among young learners.

2)      Find out the teachers perception towards the use of drama methodology approach in the teaching of English language to improve speaking skill among young learners.

Research Questions:

1)         Is there any difference/improvement in speaking skill among young learners?

2)         What are the teachers’ perceptions upon this method?

Methodology:

A mixed-methods approach  ~  Quantitative and Qualitative

Instruments

Observations, Interviews and survey.

Setting and Participants

Sample : 40 Year  5 students  and Year 5 teachers of SK Seksyen 19, Shah Alam
